Donte Stallworth, receiver of the Cleveland Browns, was suspended indefinitely by the NFL after a guilty plea to DUI manslaughter of a pedestrian.
“After a night of drinking at a bar in Miami Beach’s Fountainebleau hotel, police said Stallworth hit the 59-year-old Reyes, a Miami construction worker, who was rushing to catch a bus after finishing work at about 7:15 a.m. Stallworth told police he flashed his lights in an attempt to warn Reyes, who was not in a crosswalk.”
I’m really glad that serious steps and charges are being implemented against Stallworth. Drunk driving is a serious issue, and the circumstances of what happened are just devastating. Seriously, how hard is it to have a designated driver… especially when you’re a famous athlete?
What do you think about the situation?
When Carlie Christine, cheerleading coach of Casa Robles High School in Orangevale, California, kicked a few girls off the squad for having too many unexcused absences, the parents retaliated and got her fired. How? Well, Christine was Playboy’s Centerfold and Playboy’s Cyber Girl of the Week on February 9, and the parents found the shots, made copies, and placed them on the headmaster’s desk.
It’s really sad because the ground that Christine was fired is unjustified. The parents wanted her fired not for the pictures (as they claimed), but for the mere sake of revenge. Christine was just doing her job and trying to make a living, and Playboy is classy compared to Hustler and all those other magazines.
Hey parents, I say you do your job as parents and make sure your kids don’t ditch so many classes.
